Mill River

About the Merriman River

The "real" Merriman is in Victoria, Australia and flows into the Tasman Sea. Our river is the Mill River in Connecticut, which winds through our hometown of Hamden, which was recently ranked by Fortune Magazine as one of the best places to live in the United States.

Despite its history in milling and manufacturing it remains healthy and unpolluted as a great spot for fishing and water sports upstream before feeding our local reservoir, Lake Whitney, located next to the Eli Whitney Museum, and finally discharging into Long Island Sound.

For more information about the Mill River, check out this (mostly) accurate Wikipedia article. Or if you want to see the river in action during flood season, check out this video.
